Let Your Dear Child Journey is a limited-edition art book published in 2024 featuring twelve Risograph prints of Marie Martelly’s original collages. Produced in collaboration with Hand Saw Press Kyoto and Gallery Kyo to Asu, the book transforms her intricate, whimsical imagery into a medium that is closer to printmaking than traditional printing. Each piece was created using a mix of vivid inks—including fluorescent pink, yellow, aqua, green, and red, as well as deep blue, black, and even gold—layered in unexpected ways that highlight the playful imperfections of the Risograph process.
Because Risograph inks never align with mechanical precision, every print carries slight shifts, overlaps, and textures that make it one-of-a-kind. This unpredictability, combined with the richness of layered colors, turns the collection into more than a book: it is a series of artworks in bound form, each unique with hand bound and screen-printed covers.
